The problem
A trader was calling BTC-USD swing cycles by eye — slow, subjective, and impossible to review after the fact.
What it couldn't break
Had to work from existing exchange data, explain itself (no black-box calls), and stay readable at a glance during live sessions.
The approach
We defined the pivot rules with the trader, then designed a view where the cycle is the hero: legs, pivots, and direction first; raw candles only on request.
